Center for Economic System

Center for the economic system as one of eight centers in the Chamber, is the broadest form of work and organization of ventricular activity, given that its activities cover most areas of business or industry (metal industry, chemical industry, energy sector , textiles, wood, leather and footwear industry, printing industry, construction and IGM, public utilities, transport and trade). This concept of the position and flexibility of the centre influenced the fact that the centre in previous period, provided logistical and technical support activities in a number of other centers in the Chamber, which enabled the efficient operation and activities of the Association and its organs.

Realizing the Chamber’s commitment to encourage and promote cooperation between industry and local governments and commercial entities to enable faster integration into the international integration process, the Center for the economic system in the previous period, put in the focus for their activities on the revival of the economy in the region, through the identification and full evaluation of all available resources of importance for local government (production capacity, technological know-how, market position, good economic tradition). In this way, the chamber has through the Center for the economic system, greatly contributed to improving the investment climate in the region, which resulted in the willingness of most municipalities to develop projects of job areas, investment and development projects of their environment and offer them to potential investors, and to participate in competitions for funds intended for projects for economic development.

Lack of funds to finance investment projects in the economy is a major constraint on faster economic development, especially when it comes to the need to compensate for technological backwardness in relation to the world, which was characteristic of almost all economic sectors in our country in the past. To this end, significant activity of the Centre took place in the field of giving the information to businesses about the institutions, forms and procedures of financial support to the economy of the Region.
Appreciating the importance of financial assistance to small and medium enterprises and entrepreneurs, as a prerequisite to creating a favorable environment for business entities, the Center provides information on major domestic and international funds and other institutions, which offer various forms of financial assistance to small and medium enterprises, especially to private sector in their business and investment activities (starting a new business, purchase of equipment, establishment of business incubators and clusters as new organizational forms of economic structure, implementation and quality system certification, export promotion, support for performances at fairs abroad, increasing energy efficiency through incentive grant funds for co-funding the purchase or refurbishment of equipment for the use of agricultural biomass for energy purposes, etc.).

Centre pays special attention to science and research in the process of industrial innovation to the overall technology development company. Developing and nurturing long-term cooperation with the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad, in order to improve knowledge transfer and technology, domestic companies were encouraged to in a greater extent, provide technology transfer through higher forms of business cooperation with foreign companies, in particular through: joint ventures; long-term production cooperation, purchase of equipment, joint research work, which led to changes in production structure, increase efficiency and competitiveness of companies in domestic and foreign markets.

Education of entrepreneurs through the acquisition of verified and applicable knowledge and skills are of great use for improving the competitiveness of local companies and their quality positioning in the market. New knowledge and professional skills are especially important in the process of European integration and harmonization of national legislation with international standards in many economic fields. In addition, the Center organizes various types of training (seminars, training, presentations, panel discussions, practical workshops, etc.). in areas with problems, for which the economy has shown interest. There have been realized seminars designed for education and training of entrepreneurs to acquire new knowledge in the field of information technology (e-commerce, e-learning, Internet marketing and marketing on the Internet) standardization and certification system, implementation of new international standards (GS1 standards, new standards in žičarskoj industry and in welding, application of HACCP in public catering and food) to obtain the CE mark as a precondition for the export of technical industrial products to the European market, the application of marketing and management in the tourism business.

Going forward, the priorities of the Centre's activities will include: interest-linking of different economic sectors in clusters, regional positioning, stimulation of the export sector of the economy, greater use of opportunities for foreign trade between local companies with the CEFTA, construction and development of quality infrastructure, mastering new technologies and training for innovation management.
